Hey Mom,
This week was a pretty cool week. It started off with an average Pday and not that much happened that night. Then we had a really good Zone Training on Obedience. It was a great meeting really. It got us all excited to make sure that we aren't just being Obedient but Exactly Obedient. There is a big difference there. I really have seen a big difference between the two. Elder Cannon and I left feeling really confident about being 100% obedient. Its what Pres Riggs is really big on so its not like its going anywhere and as missionaries its what we are supposed to do.
We then had a lot of appointments that we had set up with people that we had tracted into. Unfortunately they all through. So we had a really fun day of trying to find hahaha. Wednesday was pretty identical. We were only able to see Kegan. He is doing great. We retaught him lesson 3 which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He remembered a lot and still has his testimony. On Thursday was interviews with Pres Riggs. That man is so awesome. He loves all of us so much and he is so willing to help us all out in any way. He talked with us about a way to help the members receive revelation, since that is what he has been asking us to work with the members of our ward on this and some missionaries are seeing many blessing from it while some are not. So he gave us a quote from Pres Eyring and some other stuff to go and talk with the members about. It is helping out a lot already. We are really excited for the revelation to start pouring out. On Friday we had a great lesson with Becky and Eleanor. They are finally on date for Baptism! they set the date for March 23rd but it had to get moved up a week because our Bishop will be out of town so they are now on date for March 16th. We taught them the Gospel of Jesus Christ as well. Becky of course understood and loved everything and Eleanor had some questions but not to many. They both are doing really well and progressing really well.
On Saturday there was 2 childhood Baptisms and we took Becky and Eleanor to them. Eleanor had never seen a Baptism before so this was a great experience for her. She was really really surprised at how fast the actual ordinance was. Then we had a great lesson with Emmanuel that night. He still "loves how juicy the word of God is". We read Alma 32 with him. He talked about how he has that hunger for knowledge and then at the end of the chapter it talks about how you won't hunger anymore and he had us reread that a couple of times hahaha. On Sunday both Becky and Eleanor were at church and a new part member family. The wife is a member originally from Peru and after moving to America when she was a teenager she joined the Military and she met her husband online and they were just married in October. They knew that they were going to be moving up here so they waited until they got here for the husband to start taking the lessons. So that was a pretty cool situation and we cannot wait to be able to teach him. When he introduced himself in Preisthood opening excercises he said that he was what we call an investigator hahaha. Sunday night we had a really intense lesson with this man named Tim Havrilla who the missionaries have been working with for a long time. What it broke down to was he stated that he "was good where he was at" and we explained that that was why he was not recieving an answer to his prayers. Elder Cannon asked him what he would do if he recieved and answer and he said that it wouldn't change anything. That was a good learning experience.
Oh ya, pretty cool miracle. So we have this former investigator who we stopped by and she had just had foot surgery and so Josh and us gave her a blessing. Well we stopped by this week and she is walking with a boot. She said that it took her sister 4 weeks to get to this point and its only been one for her. So ya crazy piresthood miracle. She said we can come back next week and start teaching the lessons!!
This week was really good but there is a lot more to be done.
Love Ya
Elder Powell
